Advanced Soldering Skills Course
This is a practically orientated course, which has been designed to satisfy the demand for training in hand soldering skills.
Who Should Attend?
Personnel who have completed an appropriate basic and intermediate soldering skills course followed by relevant on-the-job experience or those wishing to improve their knowledge and standard of hand soldering.
Benefits
On completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Learn and practice advanced hand soldering techniques as used in the manufacture of electronic assemblies.
Course Content
- Specialised soldering tools and equipment
- Practise or refresh, as appropriate, skills covered in the Intermediate Soldering Course
- Introduction to soldering/desoldering techniques for fine pitch Surface Mount Devices (SMD’s) including Ball Grid Arrays (BGA’s).
- Practise at reworking SMD Printed Circuit Boards making use of conventional soldering techniques and specialist rework stations.
- Quality standards and Inspection techniques.
- Rectification of faulty solder joints
